To summarise: Bad, awful, rubbish and crap.
Go and read it here: Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy review.
I can’t understand why they let people do this to films. Some poor sod who has never read the books will watch this and think its pants and dismiss the original works completely. At least the LOTR films were passable as adhering to the story (just about). And why did they make Ford Prefect black? Probably just to appeal to the american youth who they think are so narrow minded that they will associate with an “icon” and got to see the film. I did’nt know Mos Def was so popular anyway. Maybe 20cent, Eminem or Snoop should have also been considered.
Next we will be getting another bastardised version of another Sci-fi classic starring a black rap star come actor. Oh no.. they beat me to it.

How to Get Things Done:
Method 1:
Read this article and digest. Buy and read the book and digest. Create action plan. Review action plan. Categorise “stuff”. Move to your inbox and evaluate the workflow outcome process. Repeat.
Method 2:
Read article. Check your Gmail account. Read blogs. Do a bit of work. Swear laughingly at colleagues. Burp. Pretend to do more work. Toss off until time to leave the office.
Method 3:
Don’t read article. Procrastinate. Just BE……
Job done.
Nice ideas. Too much hassle. Carry on regardless. Insert head up arse. Nice in here.

Feeling tired and apathetic today. I can’t even blog straight. This is the 4th time i have tried - i deleted all the others as they were sounding too morose.
I was up until 2am Monday morning trying to re-flash the firmware on my old Wireless Access Point i have for sale on eBay at the moment after i thought i had screwed it up for good.
Staying up til 2am is not the problem though. When i did eventually fix the fault and reitre to my bed my brain was still in work mode and was buzzing away for at least 1 hour. My little’n got up the following day at 0640 which in total made for about 4 hours sleep.
I am pretty good at surviving on no sleep though. Its always the second day after when it hits me the most. Have more coffee, leave the desk and walk round outside in the fresh air? Nah, i’ll just stew at my desk and wade through the blogs i have on my Bloglines Subscriptions. That usually has some interesting stuff about new mobile phones or the XBOX360/PSP to keep me awake. Slot in a bit of work too here and there and all should be ok. Only joking Mr Employer - i am working all the time - just in case you really are monitoring my connection!
The problem is…. i’m here at work til six tonight. I wonder if my brain will still be working then?
Doubt it.

My XBOX360 Mockup. Done in Adobe Illustrator CS. First ever pic i done using it too - so excuse the dodgy ness!
by taoski on April 10, 2005

Just seen this sneaky preview of the alledged new controller of the Xbox 360 over at engadget. I guess it was only time before M$ jumped on the apple gloss white bandwagon and then release an old patent from back in the 80s to coin in more cash from the unsuspecting Steve Jobs.
I expect the xbox itself will be a white box - dvd player size with rounded edges and corners with a neat litle green X cut into the top.
You’ll see! Remember where you read it first!

The splendid northerners over at New Links have invited me to join their site!
This comes as a total surprise to me! I thought only my work colleagues were reading this blog - but obviously i was wrong! I am in 2 minds wether to join though. I quite like having my own space and fiddling with all the template settings n-that but getting more exposure could be a good thing.
Thoughts anyone?
Maybe taoski.blogspot.com will become more of a personal blog - or just a dumping ground for my fractal images?
Check out newlinks too. They are all great guys and the Newlinks blog on Blogger was one of the first i checked daily.

I managed to purloin the new Oasis track from the torrents yesterday only to then get the full video on Channel4 at about 11pm!
Cool. The new song - Lyla - is what you would expect from the more recent Oasis stuff, well over produced with the usual sandpaper vocals from Liam. I am not overly impressed - but have only heard the track 2 time so far but have been singing it in my head for the last 4 hours! I have it here on my portable drive so will give it a few more listens before the day is out.
The track listing for the new album AND comments on each track by acoustic superman Noel is as follows [via]:
1. ‘Turn Up The Sun’ - “A bit like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, A stomper”
2. ‘Mucky Fingers’ – Imagine Bob Dylan singing [The Velvet Underground’s]
‘Waiting For The Man’ with that frantic drumbeat.
3. ‘Lyla’ – Our poppiest thing since ‘Roll With It’ Annoyingly catchy. A
bit like The Who.”
4. ‘Love Like A Bomb’ – ‘One of Liam’s. It starts off acoustic and Martin
Duffy of Primal Scream plays this kinda country piano solo.”
5. ‘The Importance Of Being Idle’ – “A cross between The Kinks and The La’s
about being a lazy f**ker.”
6. ‘The Meaning Of Soul’ – “Like Elvis on crack. We played it at
Glastonbury like The Stooges.”
7. ‘Guess God Thinks I’m Abel’ – A Liam tune that’s kind of slowish and
acoustic.”
8. ‘Part Of The Queue’ – One of mine with a weird 3/4 rhythm that’s a bit
Shack [brilliant mid ‘90s smack-blighted, hugely melodic Liverpudlian
nearly-rans] doing Love”
9. ‘Keep The Dream Alive’ – “A song by Andy [Bell – bassist] that’s like
The Stone Roses.”
10. ‘A Bell Will Ring’ – Gem [Archer – guitarist] wrote it. It’s the
closest anyone’s got to sounding like [The Beatles’] ‘Revolver’.”
11. ‘Let There Be Love’ – “We [Noel and Liam] both sing, like the
self-Righteous Brothers. It’s a fitting anthem to finish the record.”
‘Don’t Believe the Truth’ will be released on May 30 and the first single
‘Lyla’ will out on May 16. Both will be released on Gallagher’s own Big Brother
Recordings label.
I wonder how long it will be before an ADVANCE version appears on the torrents? Anyway, i’m sure you can find an MP3 of Lyla if you know where to look.

A black and white fractal image. 3 layers of the same image, some flipped and i tried to introduce some blend in the gradients.

One of tonights fractals. Just a little number i knocked together. I like the radial lines effect i stumbled upon. Do you?

I am getting more and more annoyed with Blogger failing to update properly and being really slow so i have been looking for a new Blog provider. Most seem to want to charge you for the good stuff - but i stumbed upon ModBlog this afternoon and created an account there. It seems very quick (compared to Blogger) and has many more features built in (unlike Blogger).
Check it out at ModBlog - Taoski.
I will play with it and see what i can do.
Ooops! Its after 6pm! Time to be off!
