Afro Samurai

by taoski on January 22, 2007

Afro Samurai, starring Samuel L Jackson as.. the Afro Samurai.

Here’s some action i found on YouTube.

I like a good bit of Anime/Manga as good as the next person and this one is very cool.  It’s got a slightly Spaghetti Western feel to it too.  Lots of violence and blood and a few hot chicks thrown in for good measure.  Think Tarrantino meets Clint Eastwood and Bruce Lee..
Enjoy it at your local torrent site NOW and check out the website too!

NDS Pass Card

by taoski on January 14, 2007

  • Wanking over the iPhone
  • Spending all week fixing a software fault and then being told by someone who installed the software "oh!  I thought you knew about changing that obscure registry setting to make it work!!"
  • Not sleeping much due to ill children

Apart from these things that also happened this week, I have also got my hands on a Nintendo DS Pass Card and a 1gb microSD memory card to go with it!

What?  What's one of them I hear you cry?

Imagine that most games you buy for a Nintendo DS are really about 64mb in size.  Drop images or "ROMS" of those games onto a memory card and use the adaptor to put it into your Nintendo DS and then boot from the "Pass Card" to allow access to the ROMS on the card in a nice presentable list.

Basically the same as the one I bought for my GBA a while back but an updated version for the Nintendo DS Lite.  And this one has rumble capability too!

It's nice to know that any game is within my grasp and I have been playing the following:

Animal Crossing Wild World
Its like a little cutesy version of second life and I have been trying to insert as may swearwords as possible and make star constellations that are shaped like phalic symbols.  I am still trying to pay off my mortgage by selling fish I have caught to the local pimp, Tom Nook and waiting for the Mysterious Cat to arrive!

Under The Knife
The is actually quite a brilliant game!  You play the role of a junior surgeon and have to perform operations on people!  Last night I was extracting a tumor from someones stomach and then removing polyps from a singers vocal chords with a laser!  Very clever and very good fun.  Can't wait to get to the level where I get to have sex with sedated patients!  I wonder if they will be male or female?

Electroplankton
A clever little "mini-game" where you can play god with these little creatures that make noises and you perform different things to make them move etc.  Hard to describe really, but it would be great after a few spliffs!

Mariokart
I was losing playing this online last night for the first time and it is really cool.  Still a classic type of game, what ever console it is on!

Catz
I have a real cat that lives in the garden and comes for food and then fecks off again - so at least this little chappy i named "Bonzo" actually allows me to beat the crap out of it without getting too annoyed!  This type of game is often refered to as promoting caring and empathy in children.  I think it would be better utilised as anger management!

What?  That Xbox360 I got ?  Thats just sitting in the corner doing nothing.  Well… not nothing!  Its got my little toolkit balanced on top of it!  Tsk!  Silly!

5 Things To Make The iPhone Win

by taoski on January 13, 2007

iphone

I don’t support I could really see the week out without posting something about the iPhone.

I have been thinking of the various reasons why the iPhone might win over other devices and also what things might enable it to do this when much cheaper phones (with contracts) can do similar things.

1. Allow 3rd Party Widgets
The iPhone comes with some built in “widgets” that will display stocks, weather information and other small applications such as the good old calculator. Without some form of 3rd party widget support, the iPhone may not appeal to some. But as Steve Jobs says, allowing unrestricted apps onto the iPhone may make it not work properly though. He makes sense I suppose.

2. Works with all iPod accessories
Make sure the iPhone works with all the current iPod accessories! Docks, external batteries, remote controls etc. The established market for these products is huge and important!

3. Unlock it!
Make sure we can use it without a SimLock. As apple says, bad guys might unlock it. Come on bad people! We need this thing unlocked!

4. Video
Allow us to dump any video on there. I know there is a slew of softwares that convert divx and wmv to MP4 video, but I want it built in to iTunes please!

5. GPS those maps!
It’s a mobile, it’s got Google Maps, so why can’t we triangulate the signal from the nearest mobile beacons and show me where I am!

Just my early morning thoughts really…
I kinda think I don’t want one. But I do!

Google For Rapidshare Links

by taoski on January 12, 2007

Please vist my Rapidshare Blogsearch page for another way to search Rapidshare links.

Since finding the joys of using Rapidshare, I have been using a forum called Th3zone.com to find rapidshare links. But one site is just not enough for me!

Step up mighty Google and help me out!

1. Copy and paste this search string into Google:

“rapidshare.de/files/”|”rapidshare.com/files”

2. Add your search criteria at the beginning or end of the string. eg:

free ebooks “rapidshare.de/files/”|”rapidshare.com/files”
or
“rapidshare.de/files/”|”rapidshare.com/files” free ebooks

3. Browse the list of results and find your Rapidshare links from there.

You can also click the Cached link next to the results to go back in time and bring up pages from the Google Cache where the original page with the link has been removed or updated.

You can also paste the search string and criteria into the Google Blog Search page as there seems to be lots of links created there too each day.
