Ahhh… procrastination wins again.
I knew there would be a good reason not to get my Xbox360s DVD drive modded to play copied content.
Looks like Microsoft have now found a way to ban consoles that contain modded firmware and dodgy components. I knew it would come at some point and am glad I never went down that route now. £40 well not spent in my opinion!
One thing that always makes me smile and laugh inside is the revelation that there are “other worlds” out there that I know nothing of. When I say “other worlds” I mean “other lives” rather than planetary masses or alien visitors. People do such different things, all over the world. And these things dominate their lives. I have great respect for them! I first had this feeling whilst on a small yacht owned by a supplier who took us out for the day. The skipper of the boat was as old and as gnarly as a piece of driftwood and knew nothing of computers - apart from the ones that helped him navigate.
One such “other world” was brought into existence for me this morning when I attended a local Triathlon event to watch my friend Mr Swimpig swim as part of a team event. Over 100 men in rubber suits were swarming around me whilst their family and friends gathered at various locations to cheer them on as they stumbled past, dripping wet to pick up their bikes and cycle off or dump the bike and jog off round the corner on the next part of their test.
He took to the water at 8am as part of the women, junior and teams portion of the race and completed his swim in around 18 minutes. He was’nt the first out onto dry land - but certainly not the last either! Much respect to him for this deed - but I don’t think he will be doing it again any time soon!
Here’s a challenge though… If he swims next time, I might run…
Well, it's not a giant lizard slaying robot and its not a new religion.
It's just a place for me to hang out, store my thoughts and technical musings and stay in contact with my friends. It's purpose may change in the future - who knows!
