A dispute over the ability to make and sell quality Stormtrooper helmets and armour battled through the UK and US high courts, with Andrew Ainsworth coming out with a victory (and both hands). Ainsworth was the original maker of Stormtrooper props for the Star Wars films and was just exercising his right to sell his own stuff, which Lucas had only entered into a verbal contract for.
A good quality, authentic Stormtrooper costume can cost quite a lot of money. Ainsworth sells his full body armour suits creations for up to £1000 each - but you know you are getting the real thing if you buy his stuff.
