Microsoft have just stepped one BIG step closer to “droppin’ da bomb” on Sony and the PS3 by announcing support for Xvid and DivX codecs within their Media Center Extender software.
The software runs on your PC and can push content to Media Center devices such as the Xbox360.В Support for Divx and Xvid has been available before using various hacks/transcodes and workarounds, but if the Xbox360 gets this as part of its Fall Dashboard Update (already rumoured to be true) then this will kill the PS3.
Well.. until Sony add support for it anyway.
Well, it's not a giant lizard slaying robot and its not a new religion.

I haven’t played a game in yonks.
Unless you class welding and grinding and building stuff as playing…………..
Ahhhhh - I wonder if that’s why Xbox Live is giong to be down on Monday. (For Maintenance).
Yesssssss
But Vista…. B*ll*cks.
I hope that the 360 will be able to play Xvid and Divx content from USB devices.
Now that WOULD be amazingly cool!
Seems to me you’re talking about a PC rather than a console…
